Istria
Why to visit? Istrian peninsula is the northern region of Croatia and well-influenced by Italian lifestyle and amazing food. Istria is a famous wine region, has many cultural sightseeing spots, little villages, and of course great beaches on the coastlines.
Things to see and do?
- taste Croatian wine at Kozlović Winery or Kabola
- try local Istrian Fuži pasta with truffles or incredibly great meat at San Servolo Beer & Steakhouse or in a beautiful winter garden at Stari Podrum or taste amazing seafood in the romantic garden of restaurant Bokun
- enjoy beaches along the coastline or chill at cliffs around Istria’s northernmost point Kamenjak
- visit picturesque villages Rovinj, Poreč or Umag
- explore amphitheater in Pula and of course historic Pula itself

Rijeka
Why to visit? Rijeka is a city that is known as the gateway to the beautiful northern Croatian islands. Therefore, Rijeka region is perfect to visit national parks, picturesque coastal villages, some of the best beaches in Croatia, and islands in the Kvarner Bay.

- visit romantic villages of Opatija and others along the coastline
- drive to Beach Medveja for great beach days
- Učka Nature Park offers stunning nature and hiking trails
- head over to Island Krk for exploring incredible beaches, ruins, and castles directly from the mainland

Plitvice Lakes National Park
Why to visit? Plitvice Lakes National Park is a real highlight on your solo travels across Croatia. Once the venue of epic Winnetou movies, the national park comes as a true dessert for your eyeballs with stunning water falls, beautiful trails along turquoise water and amazing spots in nature.
Things to see and do?
- watch the breathtaking waterfalls at Plitvice Lakes National Park
- explore the stunning nature and lakes in the national park (a boat brings you to upper and lower waterfalls)
- rent a rowing boat next to station P1 and row across the turquoise colored lake
- go hiking in or around national park or visit caves (e.g. Barać cave)
- stay at a local house that offers incredible hospitality and food from the region at Plitvica River House

There’s the ultimate spot from where you will have the most stunning postcard view over the Plitvice lakes without any crowds! Before you reach entrance close to P3 (side entrance), you pass a wooden bridge. Next to that bridge a small trail leads into the forest on the left side. Accompanied by rushing water, follow the trail for a couple of minutes and you’ll reach the best viewing platform! GPS: 44°54’9″ N 15°36’27” E (marks the entrance for the trail)

Trogir
Why to visit? Visiting Trogir on your solo trip is a must for all travel lovelies who enjoy cultural cities, old beautiful buildings, harbor front, relaxing on the best beaches in Croatia, and would want a less crowded spot as closed-by city Split.
Things to see and do?
- explore the Old Town of Trogir, the Trogir Promenade, and the harbor
- watch the sun set behind the Old Town of Trogir from the other side of the harbor
- enjoy amazing seafood in a beautiful backyard at Restaurant Mare
- try the national dish Ćevapčići and suckling pig at an authentic Croatian restaurant Gostionica Kamin
- hop on a boat trip along the Adriatic coast or visit beaches for your snorkeling adventure

Driving from Trogir to Kava beach all along the coastline offers many beautiful beach spots. However most of them are totally crowded in summer, especially the ones that everyone can find in Google. But there it is: A little private beach for up to 5 parties (no facilities), partly covered with trees, and surrounded by coral reefs, beautiful fish, that allow you to snorkel even in shallow water. It’s definitely a private beach. GPS: 43°29’30.1″N 16°21’29.7″E

Island Brač
Why to visit? One of the many beautiful islands across the shore from Split in Croatia is island Brač. Taking a ferry for about an hour leads you directly into paradise. This island is for you when you love the coastline, amazing beaches, water sports, hiking trails, and mountains. And of course the island itself is one of the best beaches in Croatia.
Things to see and do?
- watch the sunset from the promenade all along Bol
- Golden Cape speaks for itself
- enjoy seafood in a beautiful garden at Ranc Restaurant
- do a wine tasting at Stina Winery located at the waterfront in Bol city
- hike and enjoy a stunning view from the top of Vidova Gora
- engage in water sports and snorkeling along the coastline, e.g. Murvica Beach is more private and less crowded
