Tulum has it – the ultimate boho vibes, whether it is seen on Tulum’s streets, the restaurants and cafes or in the beautiful accommodations located in Tulum center and on Tulum beach. On my last trip to Tulum, I booked my hotel stays quite randomly, but they turned out to be true hidden boho gems! Thus, here’s my top 5 of boho boutique hotels in Tulum you need to stay at, babe! Ready for your next solo trip to the Mexican Caribbean?
Just to let you know, Tulum center and Tulum beach are two areas that are perfect for your stay. While hotels in Tulum center have more jungle vibes, Tulum beach hotels come mostly with direct beach access. All in all the two areas are about 3 miles away from each other. Especially, Tulum beach area known as Zona Hotelera Tulum is one street of about 6 miles long starting at Tulum ruins and heading south until the entrance of biosphere reserve Sian Ka’an. Now let’s have a look at my top 5 accommodations for you.

Una Vida Tulum
Located close to Tulum center, Una Vida Tulum keeps its promise and has those ultimate jungle vibes. Hidden in Tulum’s jungle it offers various rooms that are all decorated with boho design elements. It lets you feels like staying in true nature, birds visiting your room and singing their songs. To reach their facilities like a restaurant and outdoor swimming pool, small pathways lead you through the jungle. They offer tropical king rooms, some with outdoor plunge pools or outdoor bathtubs, one bedroom suite, and a private house with three bedrooms. Some rooms come with garden view and a terrace or balcony. Una Vida Tulum serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is always happy to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If this is not enough, Una Vida Tulum is directly connected to hotel Bardo, which facilities you can additionally use during your stay in the jungle.

Bardo
Bardo is the sister accommodation of Una Vida Tulum. Same location in Tulum center, same incredible boho style, and marvellous pathways that lead you through the jungle, babe. Bardo offers breathtaking jungle villas and is an adults only accommodation. Each villa offers a living room, bedroom, and bathroom and features a private outdoor pool in the private jungle garden. The entire concept of Bardo is to connect you with nature, which you absolutely can’t resist when staying there. What I find impressive is apart from their incredible style, to use handmade and locally created arts for decoration. Besides, Bardo comes with (everything outdoors of course!) a restaurant, a bar, a yoga studio, and an amazing swimming pool inviting you to take a dip. As the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the bar has the greatest cocktails to finish a great day in Tulum’s jungle.

NEST Tulum
NEST Tulum is located at Tulum beach and further down south at Zona Hotelera Tulum. At this part of the beach area, it gets less crowded in terms of hotels, tourists, and vehicles on the road. NEST Tulum is truly a unique nest and a relaxing getaway that curates its mission to keep the ancient spirituality of the Mayans alive. In total, NEST Tulum comes with 12 guest rooms and one beachfront villa while comfort and privacy are key. All rooms are of course amazingly well-decorated and spread those boho vibes through the entire property surrounded by palmtrees. The accommodation has direct beach access and provides private beach cabanas and beds and you gonna love it, babe. The rooms vary from standard up to suites. Further, NEST Tulum features an own restaurant and bar that offer great delights for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and great drinks are served on the beach as well.

Mamasan Treehouses & Cabins
Again situated in Tulum beach area, you will not miss the boho boutique hotel Mamasan Treehouses & Cabins and its stunning architecture. Next to traditional cabins on the ground floor, Mamasan features several geodesic domes. Those domes allow you to sleep like in the clouds with breathtaking views over Tulum’s jungle and wildlife. You can watch incredible sunsets and the stars rising at night through the big glass windows in the treehouses. The Mamasan Restaurant & Bar just next door offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner and amazing cocktails on its rooftop bar. Beach access is possible via the hotels on the other side of the street. Please be aware that the accommodation is located right across the street of Tulum’s favorite outdoor night club Taboo. So make sure to book one of their signature treehouses that are located further away and face the jungle for less noise at night.

Casa Altamar
A truly hidden gem is located in the north of Zona Hotelera Tulum in Tankah Bay, not far away from Tulum ruins and comes with an amazing private beach: Casa Altamar. With direct access to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reer you might be lucky to spot some turtles while starting snorkelling directly from the hotel’s own pier. Casa Altamar features guest rooms, all with ocean or beach view and ocean-like decorations with boho touch. Besides, it offers an outdoor spa and a swimming pool and usage of kayaks and stand up paddle boards is free to all guests. Their own restaurant serves Mexican-Caribbean food throughout the day and cooks amazingly fresh seafood. If you are looking for a relaxed place, Casa Altamar is just perfect for you with less tourism along the coast to soak up the turquoise ocean. Tranquility is guaranteed, babe.
